#1 Fail Reason Inaccurate lane selection at the Polestar Roundabout is a legendary difficulty for test candidates in this area. Many also fail for lack of progress on the dual carriageway sections where traffic moves very quickly. Track these zones in the app →
Red Zone: The peak hours between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM are extremely difficult as the retail parks and town centre converge into heavy traffic. 8:30 AM is also a nightmare because of the large number of students heading to the ATU campus.

Local Hazards

The 'Dry Arch' and 'Station' roundabouts are high-pressure areas with complex lane layouts. Expect a very steep hill start on the road leading toward the hospital, which tests clutch control to the limit.

Community Advice

Master the Station roundabout and the one-way system near the shopping center. The Gortlee area can be tricky due to the yellow boxes and fast-moving traffic merging from the left.

Arrival & Parking Protocol

Tip: Situated at the Government Offices on Pearse Road, this centre shares a large car park with other public services. It is recommended to reverse into a bay to make the initial move-off onto the busy Pearse Road safer and easier.
